It is with extreme pleasure that we announce that Hoyt Corkins has graciously accepted to
become a member of our family! Blue Shark Optics will introduce the Hoyt Corkins Signature
Edition of poker eyewear early in 2010.
Winner of 2 WSOP bracelets, and 2 WPT titles, Hoyt is a player of vast experience and commands
respect at the tables due to his fearless style and unwillingness to be intimidated. He is known
as "The Alabama Cowboy", and "The Nightmare", but we prefer the title that a thoroughly
frustrated and out-played Phil Helmuth gave him during a much publicized encounter: "Mr. Move
All-In".
Hoyt Corkins has established himself as an elite poker professional and in 2003 took a then
record-breaking first prize ($1,089,200) in the World Poker Tour 2003 World Poker Finals. He also
had a second-place finish to Gus Hansen in early 2004 at the PokerStars Caribbean Poker
Adventure, which earned him $290,065. Hoyt was sick from the flu during the event, but he says
it did not affect his play. Also in 2004, he made the final table at the United States Poker
Championship main event held at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ.
Hoyt won a World Series of Poker bracelet and $96,000 for winning the 1992 $5,000 Pot Limit
Omaha tournament. In total, he has finished in the money on 22 occasions.
In November 2005, Hoyt finished second to Mike Matusow in the World Series of Poker
Tournament of Champions freeroll, receiving $325,000.
In 2007, at the 2007 World Series of Poker, Hoyt won the $2500 6 Handed No Limit Hold Em
event, defeating Terrence Chan and winning over $515,000, in addition to the championship
bracelet.
At the 2008 World Series of Poker, Hoyt finished in 162nd place out of 6,844 entries, earning
$41,816.
And recently, Hoyt added another major title to his impressive resume by winning the 2010 WPT
Southern Poker Championship at the Beau Rivage!
Blue Shark Optics welcomes The Alabama Cowboy, and we are privileged to have his
endorsement.
"Blue Shark poker glasses are a product that I find useful at the table. Dark sunglasses restrict my vision while the Blue Shark lenses open everything
up and I can see very clearly. At the same time no one can see my eyes and where I am looking at. Combine this with the fact that my eyes do not get
as tired as they used to, and I think that this is a tremendous value for the poker player who likes to wear sunglasses at the table. I definitely
recommend Blue Shark Optics and I am excited to be a part of the company."
